1Oak Research is a Singapore-based private credit firm. We deploy capital into fully secured, equity-backed lending facilities extended to majority shareholders of publicly listed companies across Asia, the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. The strategy is designed to offer accredited investors and institutions a disciplined fixed-income alternative, structured to be uncorrelated to public equity and bond markets.

We exist because the market for large, bespoke share-backed loans remains chronically underserved by conventional banks. Regulatory constraints and capital requirements have steadily reduced banks’ appetite for non-rated, collateral-heavy middle-market loans — particularly in Asia. 1Oak Research fills that void. Operating as a non-bank lender, we bring institutional discipline, proprietary technology, and a global network of banking counterparties to every transaction, giving both borrowers and investors a level of structure, transparency, and protection that is uncommon in this market.
